The Razer DeathAdder is a legend in the gaming mouse space. Its big swoopy curves have stood the test of time, remaining more or less unchanged over a remarkable sixteen year run in the gaming space. Most modern gaming mouse designs traces back in some way to this iconic mouse, and although Razer made new revisions over the years to add new technology or craft a sleek budget wireless model, the core design spirit remained unchanged.

It’s remarkable then, that for their new flagship $150 DeathAdder V3 Pro (official site here), Razer went back to square one. This is a completely new redesign of the legendary mouse, with internals from the excellent Viper V2 Pro surrounded by a whole new look and feel. It’s still a DeathAdder in that it’s still a right-handed ergonomic mouse, but every single aspect of the shape has been tweaked and changed for maximum performance.

Razer took a huge gamble here — but it totally paid off. Although this new mouse lost some of the personality that has made it such a hit over the years, it’s also one of the best gaming mice I’ve ever used. If you’re looking for sleek quick performance in an ergonomic shell, it’s hard to do better than this.
