Epos H6Pro Review: The Best Gaming Headset Mic?
I think EPOS is a terrible name for a gaming peripheral company. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy that the team formerly known as Sennheiser’s gaming headset division is still making products. They have a long history of pairing excellent design with enjoyable acoustics. I just don’t think that “POS” belongs anywhere near a gaming brand name, or anywhere near the impressive H6Pro gaming headset. It’s available in both closed back and open back variants, and this is a review of the closed model.
The H6Pro (closed back edition) is a successor to the Sennheiser GSP 600, a giant garish thing that had a fully adjustable huge headband and powerful sound reproduction. This 2021 update has a sleek new design, new color ways, and one of the best gaming headset microphones I’ve ever used — whether you’re looking at its audio quality or the way it connects.
The fun, warmer-than-neutral signature here isn’t for the most discerning audiophile, but this is still a triumphant example of what can happen when a trusted company with an awful name pours engineering money into a higher- end wired gaming headset.
