I didn’t do anything special with the mic, just plugged the USB receiver into my PC and recorded some audio in Audacity, then spit that directly out as an MP3. I like my mic tests to accurately reflect the raw audio so I don’t do any editing on them.

If different positioning isn’t helping it’s possible you might have a defective mic, and in that case all I can suggest is contacting Corsair support. Sorry!
