The Cloud II is a gaming headset so it comes with a microphone. It doesn’t have a detachable cable though.

Sound wise I think most listeners will probably prefer the slightly sculpted sound of the Cloud II. It’s better for “fun” listening whereas the sound of the HM5’s is really geared towards studio-style use.

The HM5’s are more comfy, but the Cloud II is also great if it fits on your head. The HM5 will fit larger ears and larger heads a little bit easier, thanks to its larger adjustments and ear pad openings.

I think they’re both really in the same ballpark “overall quality” wise, so it’ll come down to what you want. More aggressive sound and included mic? HyperX! More neutral sound and biggest squishiest ear pads? HM5!
