Turtle Beach Has Deleted Roccat

Five years ago, gaming peripheral company Turtle Beach acquired Roccat, a different peripheral company mostly known for their PC hardware. Since then they’ve operated as independent units, continuing to focus on console and PC owners respectively and operating separate teams for things like software and customer support.

Today, that all crashed to the floor. Turtle Beach has decided to let Roccat fly off into the ether, and going forward a few of their products will be re-released with the Turtle Beach logo and brand on them.

This seems like a bad idea to me personally. I’ve reviewed a number of products from both companies over the years, and for a while between 2020–2022, I was even being sent stuff to look at by their kind PR team. A quote from my review of the Roccat Kone Pro Air even appeared on their web site, and in this 2020 earnings report deck I just found.
