For years, I’ve wanted HyperX to release a wireless take on their classic Cloud II gaming headset form factor, and today that day has finally come. It’s a week of much gaming celebration, between the two new console launches and recent computer CPU/GPU launches, and I think it’s also the perfect time for this great new wireless headset.

The Cloud II Wireless sells for $149.99, and if you’d like to buy one you can order one direct from HyperX or find a retail partner by clicking right here.

I had the chance to review an early production unit of the Cloud II Wireless last month, and it’s one of my favorite headsets I’ve tested so far this year. In fact, it’s very likely it’ll appear in my “best of 2020” lists and gaming tech buyers guides in the coming weeks. The most surprising thing about it is that it’s not “just” a Cloud II with a wireless system integrated into it, but rather a fully new design with slightly improved sound quality. The headset works on PC, PS4, and Switch out of the box, and once PS5 compatibility information is known I’ll update this article and my review.

The Cloud II Wireless is my personal favorite wireless headset that HyperX makes. I like its build, design, fit, and sound profile a little bit more than the Cloud Flight models, though that’s as much a matter of personal preference as raw quality.

HyperX’s full press release about this new headset is just below. Thanks for reading my little release PSA. This headset deserves to not get lost in the justified hype around the many other gaming happenings this week!

WHY: First introduced in 2015, HyperX’s wired Cloud II headset shook up the industry with its iconic design, comfortable fit and best sound for a headset in its price range. Cloud II Wireless carries on the legacy of its wired predecessor, offering users the freedom to wirelessly game, work and school from home. HyperX currently holds a strong market share in U.S. wired PC headsets and the new Cloud II Wireless brings an opportunity for growth in the wireless PC headset category.

Due to the current COVID-19 situation, HyperX may experience some product and shipping delays. HyperX is taking every possible measure to work with partners to minimize the impact on its customers and ensure product availability and timely delivery.
