The Audio-Technica’s have a treble response that probably fits better with casual music listening, and the advantage of being more easily portable with a removable cable.

I totally love the way the 770 sounds, but that’s down to my personal tastes. The 1100’s are probably the safer buy based on what you’ve told me. Just be aware that they’re semi-open, so they don’t isolate all that well. The 770’s have dramatically better isolation.
