That’s the update!

I’m probably not going to buy one and review it, myself.

It’s a very minor feature upgrade, with some tweaks to the ANC system. Also, it appears that they’ve switched to a slightly less-premium leather material on the outside of the ear cups, and that the new model no longer smells like new shoes.

That’s a weird bummer, for me personally.

As far as the cracking issue…the jury’s still out. It didn’t really manifest itself in large numbers on the original model until a few months had passed…so my best advice to you would be to scour various user reviews and enthusiast forums and see if anyone is having the same issue.

The plastic and design of the interior of the support arms don’t look all that different, so it’s entirely possible that the issue is still there. But we won’t really know until tons of people are using them daily.

I’m sorry I don’t have a more concrete answer for you! Thanks for reading! If Sony releases a more elaborate revision of the headphones, I’ll be sure to check them out. I’m also quite interested in the new MDR100 v2/h.ear on 2, which I didn’t even know was a thing until I ran into them in the store the other day.
