That’s correct, you can! When you turn on Spatial Sound in Windows, all sound is played back through that system. It’ll upmix stereo to 7.1 and it’ll correctly handle 5.1 and 7.1 audio tracks. Since it’s free and in the latest update, I’d recommend giving it a shot! I’ve had a lot of fun with it. Both Windows Sonic and Dolby Atmos are good enough to stand toe-to-toe with other popular virtual surround systems. It’s hard for me to pick which one to use these days! :)
