If you’ve always liked warm sound and good bass, buy the QC25s and RUN AWAY from the MSR7NC.

The QC25 is a very balanced headphone that will still give you plenty of detail to enjoy.

Although the MSR7’s are more “detailed,” they can also sound rather harsh on certain songs. I tend to like a bright signature, and even I found them a little funky for the first few days.

The QC25’s have no harshness whatsoever, and are probably still secretly my favorite-sounding Bose headphones ever. The newer QC35’s are more immediately impressive…but I kind of miss the neutral smoothness of the 25's.

If you want to get more technical, you can look at innerfidelity’s charts of the QC25 and the MSR7NC.

You can see the treble peaks on the MSR7NC there, around 1000hz and 10,000hz. Now, they are not nearly as crazy as on some other headphones, but if you found the Momentums too treble-focused…I think you’d completely hate the MSR7NC, honestly. You can click that to go to the Momentum’s graph, and you’ll notice they actually have less treble emphasis than either of the other two pairs you’re looking at.

But wait, what?

How could the QC25s have more treble than the momentums but sound more pleasant? It’s because Bose does a lot of active processing inside the circuitry of the headphones in real-time to give you a nice sound, no matter what. Audio-Technica doesn’t do that.

I think the MSR7NC’s are good for people that love treble and still want an ANC headphone, but if I were you…

I’d Buy the QC25! :)
