I think the answer depends entirely on your typical daily use case! Are you going to be listening mostly by yourself at home? That’s the scenario in which the SHP9500 is best. It’s an open-backed headphone, so it won’t isolate you from outside noise, and anyone around you will be able to hear your sound, too.

The Arctis is a more versatile product overall. The included mic is great for gaming/online chat/phone use. The closed-back design is better for louder environments and not bugging your neighbors. The fold-flat design makes it easier to shove in a bag.

Really, unless you’re looking to get one of the best cheap open-backs for home listening, if I had to pick between just these two…I’d go for the Arctis every time for its versatility.
