Thanks for the thoughtful reply!

You’re absolutely right, I probably would get a lot of interaction/heat if I tore up some Grados. Believe it or not, I very rarely consider the view/interaction potential of my articles, and I’m just kind of flying off the cuff based on my own personal interests.

That’s the benefit and the downside of writing about audio being more of a hobby for me than my “main” thing.

I put the Grado pair on my August survey because, in my most recent set of headphone reviews, my main aim was to plug some of the holes in my personal listening catalog. I’m not always a fan of open-backed headphones, mostly because of my requirements for isolation, and I wanted to go look at some of the greats I had missed (HD 600/58X, DT 880, etc.)

It didn’t seem right to make that list without at least considering a pair of Grados.

I’m deep down the awful gaming headset hole reviews-wise right now, looking at newer models of old favorites, and maybe when I emerge from that I’ll give the Grado pair a second thought.

I know folks that both swear by them and loathe them, and their unique ability to so polarize folks is undeniably fascinating.

Thanks again for the comment. Replies like yours are what make it easier to wade through my notifications stack.
