You can indeed use any pair of headphones you’d like!

You get the choice of setting the output to either go through the Xbox controller headphone jack (if you’ve got one of the controllers with that built-in or the headset adapter), or you can route the output through the same outputs you’re using for your speakers. This is good if you have a receiver or TV with a headphone jack.

The Dolby Access app available in the Xbox One store for free will walk you through the setup process and has some good short video demos to show off the sound. That app is also how you get your free trial of Atmos headphone support.

My trial expires in a couple of days and I’m absolutely going to pay the 15 bucks to keep it!
