Thanks for reading, and for the reply, I appreciate it!
I didn’t end up buying Jedi Fallen Order at full retail, and I’m super thankful. Instead, I paid $15 for one month of Origin Access, played about half the game, realized it wasn’t doing it for me, and cancelled my membership.
I’m hopeful that services like Origin Access, Game Pass, and Uplay+ continue evolving because honestly, retail game prices have already increased. I’m not the first person to comment on it…but thanks to things like $100+ Ultimate Editions and multiple years of season passes, $60 now only barely gets your foot in the door for many of the “popular” games.
I hadn’t paid any attention to Gylt at all because I think Stadia is a miserable attempt to pull piles of money out of hyped-up early adopters. I finally watched some footage of it after your comment, and wow, you’re absolutely right that it’s borrowing everything from Alan Wake. Wild!
I was in the beta for Stadia and honestly thought it was fine, and I was hopeful the full service would have a more consumer-friendly business model along the lines of a subscription. I was totally wrong, haha. I never imagined they’d try to charge for a subscription on top of charging full retail prices for games you can’t download locally.
Time to reinstall Alan Wake!
