I started this article out as a sort of parody of my own other pieces, and then it kind of got away from me.

Everyone kept asking me how the M50X compared to everything else, because it was still the king of the widely-recommended heap in 2016, where it had lived since its release.

These days, its popularity has finally started to wane, and although they produced a long-overdue Bluetooth model, I think it’s past time for a true refresh with a lower price and multiple color options. Alongside that, they could launch a more expensive Pro model that had some of the features working audio professionals have come to expect from other models like the MDR7506, DT770, and HD25 as far as parts access, material quality, and ruggedness.
