Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Seems Cool So Far

It could have used another few months in the bacta tank

I wasn’t the biggest fan of 2019’s wildly popular Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. On paper the idea to combine the Star Wars IP with a Dark Souls game is a welcome one, but the actual finished product never fully clicked with me. For every exciting moment where I was immersed in a fun difficult battle and fighting the evil empire, I spent several more awkwardly fighting weird beasts for no reason other than they were there. The platform-filled backtracking-fixated worlds felt more like elaborate game stages than real places, and at launch the game had some technical challenges.

It was still a good and beautiful-looking game, and I’ve given it a few chances over the years. Now, having played the first mission of its sequel Jedi Survivor on both Xbox and PC, I might finally be ready to go back. I can now fully see why people think this is awesome. Unfortunately, it’s also starting out with some technical hiccups again.

The PC version of this game is getting slaughtered all over the internet right now to the point where EA had to release a specific PR statement about it.
