Reply Fridays #7
The One That Came Out On a Sunday
Sometimes I write my Friday article on a Sunday because the week got crazy and that’s when I had time.
Fortunately, this is a free article on a mostly-free service, so it’s okay. If you’re looking for one of my premium articles, please read my new guide on how to write a viral self-help article.
I got a lot of replies this week so I should probably get into it here instead of rambling on. You can click these links to see the comments, and my replies to them!
Michael wrote a very nice comment on my article about headset comfort. And he’s absolutely right! More reviewers should focus on comfort. This is a thing that you’re wearing on your head, which is one of the most sensitive parts of the whole body. If a headphone/headset isn’t comfy, they might as well have not bothered making it. Z Reviews is another great source for many thoughts on comfort, even if his opinions about sound are an acquired taste for some.
Troy wrote two comments, one to say he got some AT WS1100’s and is enjoying them, and one to ask what my favorite current headphones are. That second question is…difficult to answer, hahaha. But I gave it my best shot.
Jake wrote me a question about the Void Pro Wireless and MacBooks. Mine worked fine with his MacBook and he’s not getting audio on his MacBook Air. I don’t own this headset any more so I pointed him in the direction of Corsair’s tech support.
Aaron bought a Razer Ornata and he’s quite enjoying it! I was pretty skeptical of that board when I first tried it, but I actually really liked Razer’s goofy hybrid switch. If they ever made a TKL version, I’d probably buy it.
Kizito writes asking the age-old question: PS4 Pro or Xbox One X? Where by age-old, I mean like a half a year old. My short thoughts are that the Xbox One X is much more obviously powerful, but the PS4 has a very strong exclusive library and better versions of Japanese games.
BrekMadak wrote in looking for a good pair of headphones for rock and metal music, and I think they’re on the right track! Beyerdynamic headphones with their somewhat-strange response are perfect for anything with a guitar.
Vadym got an amazing deal on the Game One. And also ordered the GSP 500, a headset that I might attempt to review one of these days! I’m kind of surprised at the high prices of Sennheiser’s new GSP 600 and 500, and would love to know if they merit that much money. I just have to work up the gumption to actually take that plunge.
Christian wrote asking about the AKGY50BT. I’ve never tried nor reviewed that model so I wasn’t much help!
Chuck wrote in asking if the HyperX Cloud Alpha is still better than the II, even on a PS4. Yes! Yes it is! It’s still the same headset, and that dongle that the II comes with doesn’t even support surround on PC.
That’s it for this week. Phew! That was a lot!
