I called this Reply Fridays and not Response Fridays so that it would sort of rhyme or whatever.
Or maybe because I forgot when I wrote the first one that Medium calls them “responses,” and it’s too late to back out now!
I’m getting out of the headphone review game, but that just gives me more time to spend on other content.
Sgt. Hippy Cat wrote to ask if I’m going to review the M40X’s next. I actually reviewed those back on my now-defunct Tumblr where I reviewed stuff…and honestly they can be summed up pretty quickly. They’re a little flatter than the M50X, and as a result, about 85 percent as “Detailed.” They’re a bit less sparkly in the treble. I also don’t think they’re quite as comfy. But pretty great for their price!
Yusuf made a list of several $99 headsets I gave positive reviews to, and then asked me which one is worth buying. All of them Yusuf, all of them! I can’t say much more than I already said in my rambling reviews. Use your personal taste as your guide!
A spam bot named Rosie wrote a very convincing reply on one of my Audio-Technica reviews, that even included several real sentences…and then a link to a site that was probably full of malware. I’m not linking it because I just reported it for spam.
I don’t see spam comments too often on Medium which is kind of impressive. Or maybe just a sign of how small-time I really am in spite fo my traffic. ;)
Lily asked if I’m interested in reviewing keyboards and game controllers. I’ve actually already done a few reviews of that sort, but now that I’m not buried in headphones, I think I’m going to focus more on the software side for a while.
Jon got a replacement MDR1000X…and then it cracked again. The discussion over this particular materials/design flaw is the only time I’ve managed to build a larger discussion community on Medium, and it gives me hope that this might one day happen around a topic that doesn’t involve breaking headphones.
That’s it for this week. Thank you for reading. If you’d like to read other things…here are some things.
