Oh No, PowerWash Simulator 2 Is Super Underwhelming
I’m happy that game developer FuturLab found enough success with their breakout 2021 hit PowerWash Simulator and its roughly eight thousand DLC packs that they’re finally shipping a sequel. However, I’ve now tried said sequel’s new free PC demo…and I’m already disappointed by it.
First, let’s get some silly pedantic language stuff and wistful VR disappointments out of the way. Yes, they really spell both their company’s name and the name of their game that way, with squished spacing and camel case letters. It weirdly bothers the English nerd inside of me and feels like a decision developed in an SEO meeting. Nevertheless, their chill little game about spraying dirty stuff with hoses captivated millions across PCs and consoles…and even Quest VR headsets.
The latter is where I became a personal fan of the franchise. The direct control offered by the intensely precise motion tracking of VR takes this Zen experience and pumps it straight into the pleasure centers of my brain. You can really get a good look at the dirt in a headset, and you can perfectly aim the spray gun with your hand to go right in there and clean it all up. PowerWash VR offers an awesome and delightfully immediate gameplay experience that I genuinely think is one of the best uses of the platform.
