Logitech’s G435 Headset Now Works with The Nintendo Switch

One of my favorite little gaming headsets just got even better

Last year, Logitech refreshed their wireless gaming headset lineup with two new entries that I thought were excellent. The seemingly Best Buy exclusive G535 (review here) packed everything I liked about the G335 into a potentially affordable wireless model. The G435 is something else entirely in spite of its nigh-identical name. It’s a little headset that comes in a tiny box, but it’s also one of my favorite gaming audio products of all-time.

True game changers don’t come along that often in the gaming headset space, but the G435 (original review here) more than earns that lofty description. It’s a sleek, budget-priced affair that packs its light plastic frame with tons of performance. Not only does it feature Logitech’s fast lightspeed wireless system for near-zero-latency PC and PlayStation gaming, it also has a secondary Bluetooth mode for your mobile device. Rounded out with good sound quality, comfort, and an okay microphone, it’s a true monster performer at its sub-$80 price point. If you like the design of it, you’re going to find a new favorite just like I have.

One of the only complaints that I could levy at it during my original review process was that it didn’t work at all with the Nintendo Switch. This was all the more frustrating because Nintendo had just rolled out full Bluetooth headphone support on their hybrid console (a feature that had been hidden in the machine since launch), but the G435 refused to connect.

Clearly, someone at Logitech was as frustrated by this as I was, as they pushed out an update recently that adds support. You’ll have to jump through a couple of quick hoops to install it since the headset doesn’t work with Logitech’s G Hub software, but I was able to update my pair in about two minutes on my PC.

All future shipments of the G435 will ship with built-in Switch support, which is the right call. Hopefully they’ll change up the box copy as well to prominently call this out. As far as I know, there are no plans to make the Lightspeed USB dongle work on Switch as it does on PS5 and PC.
