Logitech G502X Plus Wireless Gaming Mouse Review

Good for fans, but you can do better

If you’re one of the legions of folks who love the venerable Logitech G502 gaming mouse, then this year your ship finally came in.

However, most gamers looking for a high-end performance mouse experience should probably at least consider other options. Logitech finally joined the modern era with some of the updates on display in this new G502 series, but it’s still lagging behind in other important ways, especially considering the high asking price.

The G502X Plus is the top-end model in the range (official site here) and sells for $159.99. That makes it one of the most expensive mainstream gaming mice on the market. There’s a slightly cut-down “Lightspeed” version that doesn’t have RGB lights for $139, and a wired version for $80. The wired version is the only one that seems like it’s priced correctly to me.

I bought this mouse with my own money at retail. I wasn’t asked to write this by Logitech and I never use affiliate links because I think they’re gross.

On the plus side, the G502X Plus finally employs optical mouse switches. I’ve spent years watching Logitech fans complain about double clicking issues and other problems with their mechanical switches — all of which would be improved by optical…
