I’ve never personally passed a blind ABX test with hi-res audio files. Regardless of the gear I’ve used. Blind tests are more reliable than sighted tests because if I know what source I’m using my subjective bias comes into play.

I’d also never personally use tube-based equipment to do that sort of testing because of the inherent distortion of tube gear. Their “warmer and more musical sound” is an acquired taste and I totally get why a lot of people like it, but I feel like the increased distortion only gets in the way of making any real discernment in my personal case. Glad you enjoy your system and can tell a difference though!
