Interesting! I’ve heard people say that about the Cloud II before, but I didn’t know it was also an issue for some folks with the Alpha. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

In my own personal experience, I never had this issue, or I would certainly have mentioned it in the review! I have a larger head and average-sized ears, and comfort is very important to me…but I’m also not quite as sensitive to stuff touching my ears as long as it’s soft as some people are. I do like a big ear cup, but I can live with it if the padding is soft.

I use each headset I review for a couple of days before reviewing it typically, and I wear it the entire time I’m writing the review, which is usually a ~3 hour process. I didn’t have any comfort issues with the Cloud Alpha, and in fact, I love how soft and squishy the padding is.

But that’s my own personal experience and it in no way means other people aren’t having that issue. Everyone’s head is different!

So the best suggestion I can make is to buy it from a place with a good return policy like Amazon or Best Buy, and if it bugs you, you can return it!

Thanks for reading and for bringing this up. I’ll have to keep an eye on it to see if it becomes a bigger issue like the Sony headband breakage thing.
