You're correct that I haven't written any reviews of ANC headphones lately, and as I've not experienced most of the current stuff it wouldn't be right to recommend somehting. The folks over at Rtings are a safe bet for data-based reviews that can show you exactly how much noise different headphones will cancel out.

I've been covering more game software and game-related tech, so I'm not sure when or if I'll ever get back into doing pure ANC headphone reviews. My personal favorite ANC headphones ever are the original Sony MDR-1000X (which I think both sounds and looks better than any of the revisions) and the 2020 Razer Opus (which Razer weirdly ruined last year by changing the sound signature).
