I would highly recommend using the free Windows Sonic or Razer Surround alongside your current sound card/motherboard/hardware instead.

The HyperX Dongle only upmixes stereo to fake 7.1, it won’t use the raw 7.1 audio data from your games. As I mentioned in the article.

It sounds fine for what it is, but it won’t provide the same sort of virtual surround experience that other systems will.
