I also haven’t played it yet as virtual card games also aren’t my thing, hah. If we go by the old standard of Metacritic more or less representing the voting jury (though it’s hard to account for shifting tastes), Balatro had less than half the reviews and a lower score by four points than Erdtree. So it could be close.

Most of the folks I know who love Balatro speak of it more like an addiction than a fun time. Still, I’d honestly love to see it do well. I didn’t think that they’d let a piece of DLC through the nomination process and it tossed my entire line of thinking right into the trash.
