HyperX Launches Streamer Starter Pack
Today, HyperX is launching a new Streamer Starter Pack, featuring an affordable bundle of gear for aspiring streamers and content creators, alongside a new colorway for the Cloud Alpha headset.
Both of these new offerings are launching exclusively in conjunction with their retail partners at Best Buy. The $129 Streamer Starter Pack includes both the Solocast microphone (see my review here) and the most recent revision of the Cloud Core headset (review here). While this version of the headset doesn’t come with a USB dongle, it does include an activation code for DTS Headphone: X Spatial Audio for Windows and Xbox users, which provides accurate surround and spatial audio virtualization across your games and applications. Of the three currently available spatial audio options available directly within Windows (Sonic, Atmos, DTS) it’s probably my favorite one.
For $99, you can also pick up a new Blackout colorway of the iconic Cloud Alpha headset. This looks similar to the excellent Blackout edition of the Cloud Alpha S, and it’s one of my personal favorite color options across the whole HyperX lineup.
Again, both of these new bundles are available through retail partner Best Buy starting today. It’s neat to see HyperX offer DTS spatial audio in the box with the streamer bundle, as Windows 11 is doubling down on pushing gamers towards using the built-in spatial audio subsystems instead of a dedicated surround dongle. This is a good step towards embracing that future and it’s also a great value since it means gamers don’t have to cover the cost of a software license.
