HyperX Launches PlayStation-Styled Cloud Stinger Core Wireless Headset
The impressive summer roll-out of new HyperX products continues with a refreshed design for their Cloud Stinger Core Wireless model. This is a closed-back, wireless-only gaming headset with an attached microphone that sells for $79.99 (official product page here).
It’s a light cosmetic refresh of a design that’s also available in black. I rather enjoyed this headset’s big brother, the Cloud Stinger Wireless, when I reviewed it last year. The Core model uses cloth-covered ear pads and a slightly smaller driver inside, but it otherwise offers the same feature set with up to 17 hours of battery life. The Stinger lineup targets those who want to maximize value, and want a good solid gaming headset with all the basic features you need.
If you’re a fan of USB-C, you’ll be pleased to discover that this new model has a USB-C charging port. It also has a new white and blue color scheme that’s in line with PlayStation branding, and should match the PS5 quite well when it launches later this year.
