HyperX Launches New Cloud Flight for PS5 Gamers
The HyperX Cloud Flight family gains a new product today with a model featuring full PS5 compatibility. The color way is also new, pairing a sleek black finish with a blue accent to indicate that it’s geared towards PlayStation gamers. It’ll also work with the PS4, and although it’s not called out in the press materials they sent over, it seems to be using HyperX’s standardized USB receiver so I imagine it’ll work just fine on a PC as well.
Battery life is rated at up to 30 hours with the ear cup LEDs turned off, or 13 hours with them turned on in solid mode. In addition to certified PS5 compatibility, this new model also adds the mic mute LED from other recent wireless HyperX headsets, so you’ll be able to easily see if the mic is on or not. I’ve enjoyed both the original Cloud Flight and the Cloud Flight S in the past, and it’s neat to see a fun new color that offers certified support for the new audio control features on the PS5.
The headset is launching at a price of $119.99 through a retail partnership with Amazon, and you can find links to its product pages below. They aren’t affiliate links because I don’t believe in the practice, so you can click away without giving me any sort of kick back or other incentive. The launch price is lower than the original launch price of the first Cloud Flight, and puts these at a competitive spot within the market. It’s also nice to see that this model retains the backup wired audio connection option of the original Flight, though sadly they haven’t included the 3.5mm cable you’ll need in order to use it.
