Hi! Thanks for reading!

In my full review, I indeed found that the MDR-1000X sounded much better than it did on the demo units, and gave me bass performance more in line with what I was expecting from reading the reviews.

However, I’ve since sold my pair, and after that, some issues came to light. Most notably, that the Sony’s have some build quality issues that might be pretty widespread.

If you liked the sound of the Bose QC35s, I’d say you should buy those. Sound quality is largely subjective and I think both of those pairs are in the same ballpark, depending on your personal tastes. Also, Bose has much better customer support than Sony does. They recently went out of their way to address customer concerns with the quality of their ANC, and add adjustable ANC in the process.

Hope that helped you out!
