Gah, the saga continues. :(
I agree with you. It doesn’t seem like Sony’s going to do anything about this until it happens to some arbitrary percentage of users and there’s enough of a public outcry. This is a really expensive product by most standards, and it’s wild that such a basic piece can take the whole thing down.
At the very least, it seems like this problem should absolutely be covered under the warranty.
