Considering that the plug on my Aurvana Live’s failed and I had to return them, my first instinct is to recommend the Alphas, especially for the same price!

The Aurvanas are a better on-the-go headphone because of their tiny size, as long as you can deal with the dual-entry cord. But other than that, I’d say the Alphas are better in almost every way that matters…build, sound quality, design, comfort, etc.

I’d only consider the Aurvanas if you’re looking for a cheap bang-for-the-buck, but since you’re already committed to the price point of the Alphas, go for the Alphas. The Samson mic would sound nicer than the mic on the Alphas by a little bit, but since it sounds like you’re not planning to record vocals or anything I still think the Alphas are the best choice.

Get the Alphas. :)
