Back when Fable II came out, I loved it to death. It had the infrastructure in it to become more than it was…an interesting borderline asymmetric/real-time multiplayer system and hooks for DLC.

I told everyone who would listen that I would have happily subscribed on a regular basis to more Fable II content. That the episodic model seemed like a perfect fit. But then, they just put out a couple of okay DLC packs and moved on forever.

The idea of subscriptions providing a longer tail is a very interesting one, although I think the industry is really addicted to the quick hits of money they get out of the current model. Thanks for writing this, I enjoyed it.
